Penerjemah ijazah, KTP, & akte lahir tidak boleh sembarangan diserahkan pada penerjemah. Apalagi jika tujuan kita menerjemahkan beberapa surat tersebut untuk berpergian ke luar negeri. Misalnya sekolah atau untuk bekerja di sana. Jangan sampai, sudah bayar mahal, ternyata dokuennya tidak bisa digunakan. Salah-salah kita dideportasi karena tidak memiliki surat-surat pribadi yang sah.
Lalu bagaimana dong dengan surat-surat yang mesti diterjemahkan? Harus diserahkan ke siapa? Surat-surat resmi bersifat pribadi tersebut harusnya diterjemahkan di penterjemah tersumpah. Pasalnya tidak semua penterjemah bisa diakui oleh Negara tujuan.
Jadi surat-surat tersebut harus diterjemahkan sesuai dengan Negara tujuan. Ini agar pihak pemerintahan Negara tujuan bisa mengerti tentang isi dari dokumen pribadi kita. Sayangnya, tidak semua penterjemah diijinkan menerjemahkan surat-surat resmi berbadan hukum. Hanya para penterjemah yang memiliki sertifikat saja yang diijinkan. Pun tidak semua sertifikat diijinkan. Hanya sertifikat yang dikeluarkan oleh lembaga yang diakui oleh Negara tujuan saja yang diijinkan (internasional).
Pentingkah Menggunakan Jasa Penerjemah Tersumpah
Pentingkan menggunakan jasa seorang penerjemah yang sudah tersumpah atau memiliki sertifikat? Jawabannya penting sekali. Apalagi jika kita akan pergi ke luar negeri, atau membuat perjanjian bisnis dengan pihak asing. Penerjemah ijazah, KTP, & akte lahir misalnya sebagai syarat pindah atau berkunjung ke Negara asing harus dilakukan oleh penerjemah tersumpah.
Mengapa demikian? Pasalnya, dalam dokumen yang diterjemahkan nantinya akan dibubuhkan tandatangan dan stempel penerjemah terkait. Jika kita menggunakan penerjemah yang tidak tersumpah, maka dokumen tidak akan dinyatakan resmi atau legal.
Tanda tangan dan stempel yang diakui pun hanya dari mereka yang memiliki sertifikat atau tersumpah oleh lembaga yang diakui. Mengapa harus menggunakan penerjemah tersumpah atau bersertifikat? Ini sebagai bukti bahwa hasil terjemahan memang dikerjakan oleh orang yang terpercaya kredibilitasnya.
Penerjemah Tersumpah Vs Penerjemah Biasa
Beda antara penerjemah tersumpah dengan penerjemah biasa, bisa dilihat dari kekuasaan dalam menerjemahkan dokumen. Bila penerjemah tersumpah bisa menerjemahkan berbagai macam dokumen. Baik yang resmi maupun tidak resmi.
Sedangkan penerjemah biasa hanya bisa menerjemahkan dokumen tidak resmi saja. Misalnya saja novel, buku literature, atau sejenisnya. Penerjemah biasa tidak bisa menerjemahkan dokumen resmi. Pasalnya dia tidak memiliki pengakuan berupa sertifikat dari lembaga yang sudah dipercaya.
Lalu bagaimana dengan tarifnya? Tentu saja, tarif yang dibebankan pada penerjemah biasa lebih murah ketimbang dengan penerjemah tersumpah. Pasalnya, penerjemah tersumpah dianggap sebagai profesional. Jadi sudah memiliki tarif standar minimum.
Berbeda dengan penerjemah biasa. Mereka bisa memberikan tarif sesuai dengan keinginan. Biasanya ada persaingan harga yang ketat antara penerjemah ini.
